Default Fuse Location

Does it matter where the fuse is located?

I know most of the time its located in the engine bay, but my ANL fuse holder is huge and I have no space in my already cramp engine bay.

Can I put this in the back next to the amp or somewhere in between. Are there any Cons.

Thanks!

leave it a few inches away from the battery you dont want a really high current running through your power wire at a long travel distance

if there is no room under the hood, just find a place in the car to put it.
closer to the bat the better

A fuse holder is extremely small, and I have a hard time believing you can't fit it in the engine bay. I would keep it in the engine bay so there is less chance your car lights on fire in the event of a short...

Can this be dangling or it has to be tied down?

My 150 ANL fuse holder is like 2 box of cigarette in height but half the size of the box. I do not have the round fuse holder which is smaller.

The fuse must be within 18" of the batt. and in the engine bay, [the fuse is there to protect the power cable] it is best if it is mounted but can "dangle", [depending on type of ANL fuse holder].

Even though basic, this is one of the best ANL fuse holders, [can be left "dangling"]...

They can also be found on eBay...

The question is, what kind do you have? 94

Can you put this on top of the battery and not get any interference?

Yes you can, assuming there is room, I have done so more then a few times, because of the batt. hold down it is easy to fab up a bracket to hold the fuse holder, I have even welded a mounting plate to the hold down.

There will be no interference. 94
