yes you use oil for your transmission also 5w30 or 10w30 is what i use. can also use honda fluid or syncromesh. Look around and see where its coming from probably a bad seal around an axle or your drain plug is loose.

the axle seals or your main seal around you input shaft. if its the man seal then your clutch would be drenched.

if it is the seals on the transmission, it's a cheap fix. somewhere in the 5 dollar range or so.

yep. but before you go and start replacing things be sure you figure out where it's leaking from. clean up the oil thats already leaked out and try to figure out where exactly the oil is leaking from.

did you check your oil level after all the oil went everywhere? if your oil level was fine before you spewed oil everywhere and it's still fine after, then do check were it's coming from. if your oil level went down after all the oil went everywhere, my guess would be rear main seal.

Check your oil filter, sometimes those oil places don't even tighten them up and you can leak oil all over the back of your engine.

can you get a shot of the top of your engine from the vtec solenoid side? just want to rule that out.

and from the pictures, did you take off that plate that protects the fly wheel or is it like that? anyways, is the back of your flywheel covered/caked in oil?

If you don't have an inspection cover you should get one, its good piece of mind for a dd.

Also, it really looks like a rear main seal leak to me with the oil coming out where it is.

Good point 90ex. If the cam seal or solonoid leaks and it drips down the trans.

is the oil clean or carbon fouled (black or brown in color) if its clean its probably gonna be a transmission leak. if it matches the oil on yr dip stick than its engine oil. based on yr pics it looks like a trans leak, possibly input shaft seal. does yr clutch slip. if yr not mechanically inclined take it to a shop, the sooner the better

yes you can i do it at the car wash all the time. matter of fact, grab a can of degreaser and hit the engine/bay/and tranny while your at it. and start up your car after 5 min of washing it so to check if anything messes up. but i doubt it

mine was leaking worse than that. was the oil pan or oil pan gasket. so i changed them both. problem fixed. I thought because the leak was so bad it had to be from the rear main. i was putting about a liter a week of oil in. but changed the oil pan and gasket, problem fixed. i put an engine dye in it after washing it down really good. and pinpointed it.
