Default New problem with pulley off!

Hows it going guys.

Well, I've recently created a topic about how my crank pulley was bad. And which it really is!

Now that it is off, I wanted to start the car to see if the sound still persists.
Well, the sound of a really bad wobbling pulley is still there, EVEN with the crank pulley off, and all other pulleys not moving (of course)

And I have no clue what it could be. When I stick my head back by the intake manifold, it seems like the sound is coming most predominately from that area. Any ideas what it could be? Now my car is running off the battery... so i'm guessing some things may not be getting enough power? Any ideas guys?

Buy a cheap $3 engine stethoscope and try to localize the noise. Given the bad crank pulley, however, I am thinking the crankshaft may be the problem.

That's what I was thinking. But the wierd thing is, is that the sound starts to go away when I apply the gas. Can't I get the stethoscope from a part store such as Advanced, or O'reily's?

Possibly, though I find that Harbor Freight Tools often has the best deals.
