1991 CRX ALOT of water coming out the exhaust
I know that water is a normal by product of combustion but this is much more than spray or drips. My friend was driving behind me and I took off out of a redlight pretty quickly and he calls me and tells me there is alot of water coming out of the exhaust. He described it as slightly larger than a pee sized stream
However this only happens when I punch the gas, when I drive normally (2000-3000rpm) this doesn't happen.
I bought the car a few weeks ago for $700 off some puerto rican folks that didnt have great English,so I don't have a very good history on the car
Known problems:
Radiator leaks. I pour water in it about once a week and after a while of driving there is moisture around the radiator region. I plan to fix this before it gets cold because I won't be able to use water anymore. I fill it when the temp guage gets above normal, i put roughly a quart in. I haven't noticed any difference in how the engine runs when it gets hot, so I don't think I've caused any real damage.
Alternator puts out 18-18.5 volts. Cooks my battery which also needs water but only filled it once. I don't see how this could relate to the water coming out of the tailpipe.
Odometer doesn't work so I couldn't even estimate how many miles are on it.
Not sure if the engine is original. Could anyone tell me where to look to find out which one it is? I am roughly familiar with B-series/D-series. Very roughly.
I realize this could be a leaky head gasket, but I'm hoping it's something easier/cheaper. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

do a compression test first .. check for a cel light check block code and let us know so we can helpp ya more take battery and have it tested it could bee the battery has a a bad cell in it i have a batery like that in my car nott it reads hight voltage and it heats up realllly fast.
I'll see if i can get the compression test done.
As for effect on performance, I've only had it 2 weeks so i cant say i know everything about it yet. It seemed like it had good response to me but i think the clutch is starting to slip. Sometimes get's jerky in a low gear and it feels mushier than when i got it.

is it usdm or canadian crx and is it a dx or si model? and the block code is at the edge of the block where the motor meets the tranny it should say d15_._
It's definitely an Si.
I'll check the engine code if i can tomorrow. It's veyr low to the ground, i don't think it's stock suspension, i cant even fit my head under the car. I'll jack it up if i can

not to jack ur theard but i have the same problem, but mine is whenever. Ok so when i was taking my header off i had to take off the test pipe. When i took off my test pipe and i tilted it down a lot of water came out. and the car has been sitting for like 2 days. So what is my problem.
you can check the block code just by popping the hood and looking down on the block you dont have to jack the car up...and if itz an si the original block code should be D16A6 not a D15 my bad
some time usein cheap gas would cause you car to do that also if your car runs to rich fuel can past the the ehuast like that
If it's the radiator that's leaking i do have access to a welder.
Someone suggested that the entire exhaust is aftermarket and not installed thoroughly, so the holes that are normally in the bottom of an exhaust either arent there or arent set right, so the normal amount of water that an engine puts out is just collecting. Then when i punch it, the increased flow through the system pushes the water out that collected in there.
I know how to fix the alternator issue.
Unless it's a leaking head gasket there's nothing else that I know of that's wrong with it.
