hey guys, this isnt really a build, more of a quetion. i put it in here cause it deals with appearance. i tried to tuck my headlights last week, and i stripped my front end (bumpers, fenders and such) and i didnt know where to start on the wiring. if this is in the wrong section, im sorry. i just really want to know how to do this lol. any advice is much appreciated
I'm not talking from experience, more of a common sense perspective.
The whole point of tucking your wiring, is to present a cleaner, less-cluttered engine bay. It looks damn good when done right. Your goal is to hide your wiring out of view, but still have it accessible if anything unfortunate were to happen that would force you to repair your previous work.
Most of the wiring jobs I've seen here on HT included putting the wiring behind the fenders and then come out and connect to the headlight. Just try a method you think will work.
Keep the wires out of direct moisture areas, make sure you solder and shrinktube all your joints and keep the wiring out of holes that may cut the wires over time. If you need to route the wiring through sharp-edged holes, try to use rubber grommets to protect it.

On the drivers side you will need to tuck the headlight and the windshield washer motor lines. On the pass side you will need to tuck the horn and the head light wires. I ran mine through my fenders. Hope this helps

Put the wires between the fender and the fender liner. Every post i've read about wire tucking, they've taken off the fender. I chose to remove the fender liner instead. Either way it shouldn't matter. You have a few options for holes. If you're just doing the headlights like I did, and leaving your battery and fuse box where it is, there's a hole on the side right there near the fuse box. It's got a black grommet in it. Just pull it out with a pair of needle nose pliers. When you run your wires through it, either wrap them in some heavy duty plastic wrap and/or find a grommet that fits the hole. You can just drill a hole into your stock grommet if you can wrap all 14 wires (12? 14? i dont remember) tightly, then it should fit easily.
If you're really having a hard time with this,
you might want to have someone else do the job for you. I bet a car stereo shop could do it.
