Ok so my friends 00 auto dx stalls under like stop and go traffic,
It will start to hesitate like its "coughing" and as i apply more gas to it dose not do anything.
I suspect an idle issues but seeing how it dose not pick up when I apply more gas to the car - I am stumped.
I am reading my service manual and I find that a weak fuel pump or clogged fuel filter may cause hesitation but I am not sure if it will cause it to stall.
for some help. No Codes too
I already checked the air filter, spark plug, oil, trans fluid, and coolant.

Yeah thats my next plan of attack, and if that dosent fix it i was going to check the impedance of the pump... any one know whats the stock ohms for the pump is?
Have you inspected the plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor? If those are fine, check the ignition timing with a timing gun.

Thanks guys, I am going to replace the fuel filter and see how it goes from there. But do anybody know the resistance the fuel pump reads? This way i wouldn't have to guess on a semi-pricey thing like the pump.
I thought about the timing but i don't see how the timing would be off by so much for it to stall seeing its the original motor and all.
I'll look into the cap and rotors, but the spark wires look good, nothing frayed and i am not being electrocuted while i inspect it lol.

Note that these symptoms are all consistent with problems with ignition system components and/or with the ignition timing. Such issues are very easy and inexpensive to check. In addition, ignition problems are much more common than are fuel problems, particularly a clogged fuel filter and a bad fuel pump.

Well replaced the filter took like 5 minutes, easier than i thought. Car is running good, no signs of stalling after i tried to mimic traffic conditions by braking then tapping the gas lightly. Drove a few miles, seems like a fix.
As far as the main relay go i don't think its the main relay, i mean the car starts and usually a bad relay will stop the car from starting right? Thanks for the post though!
