im looking to paint my dash from the ugly blue to another and was wonder how well spray painting will work and how it should be prepped?

 

clean really the areas to be painted really well with a mild detergent use paint adehisve promoter and use a spray paint designed for interior panles,plastic trim

 

if you wanna use a primer you can i guess but its not necessary

 

thanks for the tip, im gonna try regular spray paint on extra interior pieces i have laying around just to experiment

 

cool just make sure to use the adhesive promoter because the paint will not always cling to the material and any slight scratch will expose old paint

 

im not really to worried about the peices if they turn out bad they wont being going in my car

Dont use exterior paint, it comes out like ****. Dupli Color makes interior paint that works great I have done a few dashes that came out, looking almost OEM. But keep in mind your interior will smell for a week or two.

yeah i used duplicolor vinly interior paint looks oem its been on for about 8 months no fading or chipping

 

just make sure u clean everything REALLY well and it should turn out fine. soup and water or even rubbing alchohol.

 

bump bump, i also used Dupli Color vinal paint. worked great for me. just washed it and sprayed it. didnt use any primer and stayed on pretty good

 

use dye not paint, i saw a guys thread where he used some kinda spray dye and it looked 100% OEM

 

SEM spray vinyl dye. its expensive but if you do it right it will last forever and look like oe. it is like 13 bucks a can though...

 

I just used that on my blue interior....definitely will never use anything else. really good stuff...would post pics but I'm not at home.
