Why are you looking for an H series? Any of the F series engines would be a cost effective and reliable platform for boost.

I would have to agree that the H23 would probably be the better platform for boost out of the two H's though.

the jdm h22 block is also quite strong because its a closed deck. all the usdm's are open so the sleeves are weaker

H22 needs resleeved to boost more than 8 lbs. F can handle whatever you throw at it. I think H23 has same sleeves (iron) that F has. I'm working on an H and it isn't cheap AT ALL!

high compression engine = bad for any type of boost man. better off to use a F series

Thats why you have to get new lower compression pistons. Not cheap either BTW

That was kind of a vague answer as well. What does the OP have to do to properly build an H for use with a turbo? Does it need to be sleeved?

vauge question = vague answer.. lol

what is the op's goals? does he intend to boost over 8lbs? is this gonna be a track car? a DD? BUDGET MAYBE???
if this question is even being asked, then he's obviously not been down this road before.. not trying to be mean to him, but this question has been asked before, and theres no one right answer to it.

i would suggest the search button, or maybe hang out in the turbo room.. and do some research on the H's and maybe even the F's since they were so highly suggested to him.
