Ok well for the past few weeks my car has been trhowing a code for tdc censor so i did some research on here and came to the conclusion that i needed a new dizzy or at least a different one. So i got an oe remanufactured one from advance and im still throwing a cel. One question i have is are there clearences for the internal sensors like that can be had with a feeler gauge., that could possibly cause this? Reason i ask is i had to swap the housing cause im using a y8 dizzy on a z6 head. Another q i have is is it possible to use the z6 dizzy only difference is that extra plug. Other than that im complely stumped as to the reason i keep throwing a cel and it wouldnt annoy me if it were something dumb but vtec wont engage with it on so dynoed my car the other day and the cel was on and it pulled 156.1 whp kinda aggrivated me cause it pulls alot harder when it actually engages. I guess im out of ideas as to why it keeps doing this and it just doesnt make any sence

y8 block, z6 crank, d16a6 pistons stock rods with arp hardware decked/ bored .020
oem mls head gasket, arp studs
appx 11.3:1 cr
obx header with custom 2.5"collector
diy itb's using cbr 954rr throttle assemble

 

If i remember correctly, the y8 doesn't bolt up properly to the Z6 head. Are you having this issue?

 

Id try to throw on the dizzy that fits the head, and then pull timing and see what your sittin at for timing and then the vtec problem, check your oil pressure and the wiring,also what ECU are you running?

 

no i swapped the guts of the y8 dizzy to the td42 (z6)housing for it to bold up to the z6 head. its not having oil pressure issues its directly related to the cel, vtec will work before it comes on but once it pops not a thing. Im running a p28 with hondata s300. I guess i dont know what to do to fix this i want to have that cel gone so it can run properly.
