Rear Disc Break Swap ?
I recently acquired a rear disc brake swap from a local guy for CHEAP.
I have no clue what car it originally came off of, or even if it will actually fit my car (2000 Civic Ex). He said it was he took it off of a '95 Civic so it should fit, but I still want to know what car it originally came off of.
I guess it could have come from an EG, but I'm mainly thinking an Integra. I have no idea I figured some one on here must know for sure.
LCA:
*Definately not the same as my LCA's so I know it can't be from a EM1.
Brake Caliper:
*Definately different from mine so again it can't be from an EM1.
Hopefully someone can determine what its from and if it will fit my car for sure by looking at the pics. Thanks everyone.

Re: Rear Disc Break Swap ?
I just needed the main part of it so I took it all apart.
I'm using:
Skunk2 gold LCA's
OEM EM1 brake calipers
OEM EM1 e-brake cables
Powerslot rotors
Hawk HPS pads
Earls SS brake lines
How sure are you that it is from a '94-'01 Integra?
If thats what it is from it will fit my car for sure right?
Thanks.

Re: Rear Disc Break Swap ?
Well to me the lower control arm looks like its from a DA integra cuz of the lil nipple on top. But the calipers looks to be a rear nissin caliper (right side) If the number on the caliper is 7CLP13S than it's a GSR. Hope that helps.

Re: Rear Disc Break Swap ?
The nipple is for the Sway bar bolt.. Usually civics don't have them, but the heavier integras do.. All the rear suspension components from 92-95 Civics and 94-01 integs are the same.. (Not sure about ITR) However, it don't matter exactly what trim it came off of originally because they are all interchangeable between the 2 cars in those year sets... Even IF it was a SI hatch, both the (RS, LS, GS, GSR) integra and the civic had the same calipers and rotors.. Only thing that matters is if it will interchange with a Y2K civic.. I'm curious..
If it boils down to it, I bet you could get away with swapping from JUST the spindles outward (Not the trailing arm)... At least you wouldn't have to get an alignment until you put those rear gaytrol er control arms on.. *snicker* =]

Yea I know that all 92-95 Civics and 94-01 Integras brake/suspension components are interchangeable.
I know that every uses GSR rear disc brakes on their Civic's so I'm sure this will work.
I was just curious if there was any way to tell exactly what car it is off of because it will aggervate me to death if I don't know.
I don't know the difference between spindles and trailing arms. Could someone clarify exactly what each is? I know I have the whole swap so what would that be called?

Re: Rear Disc Break Swap ?
pair of trailing arms on the FARRRR left.. the spindles bolt to these, then the hubs to the spindles..
They are off a 94-01 integra.. pick your model and color.. it don't matter cause they are all the same exact parts on all trim levels of integra and civic SI...

'92 - '95 Civic EX sedans also had a 13mm rear sway bar, it could have come from that as well.

Re: Rear Disc Break Swap ?
yes, it was an option some of the D-series A/T 4 doors came with.. Weird as hell.. I noticed it at a shop when a POS 4dr lx was on the rack and I rested my hand on the front tire (When the car was lifted at shoulder height or so).. I noticed it was a front wheel and wonderd why it wouldn't turn.. I tried turning it by hand but wouldn't.. The guys at the shop thought the trans was broken.. I lowered the car and sure as $hit, there was a HUGE "LSD" stamp in black ink on the transmission bell housing.. I started laughing.. ESPECIALLY on a Dinky-D =]
