honda b16a idles at 200 rpms and on the cluster gauge turns on
i bought a b16a
4 months ago and when i did the swap it starts up at 2000 rpms and the cluster gauge says that the motor needs oil but i checked the oil dipsticks it didnt need oil and i left it on 4 about 2 mins and it started to overheat
if any 1 has a solution for this situation hook me up wit a diagram or pictures of the motor to solve try my problem
ps as soon as get this dun ill post up a vid of me racing

Doesn't the b16a require a larger radiator than the stock EG one? Also, I think that the oil light tells you that the oil pressure is too high (again, I think this is it, someone correct me if I'm wrong).
the oil light warns thats its too low, as in a case that you may be low or have no oil (pressure that is)
It might show low oil pressure, not sure. But the oil pump is responsible for the oil pressure and if the oil pressure sensor is not damaged then it's a serious issue with the oil pump or motor.

Oil pressure sensor switches to ground when less than 5 psi of pressure is present. if your light is on, it's cause you have no oil pressure.. the likelyhood that your switch is grounded out is possible, but not at all likely.. probably just a shorted wire.. Because I tell ya what.. If you had less than 5 psi for long enough to overheat at 2k rpm, I wanna know what the hell you got for bearings!! Unobtanium??
As for the overheating, bleed your cooling system using a bleeder.. Make sure your EFFING thermostat is in correctly, and YES, B16's DID come with a larger radiator, but I promise you a D15B7 radiator will work fine unless you plan on convincing me that you're runnin 300hp shot of giggle juice at 2k rpm with no load..

guys lets help him out as quick as we can that sounds sweeeet ha lol
this shouldn't be too hard, go to harbor freight fork over $10 for their oil pressure gauge and test your oil pressure I am not sure where it should be for each rpms, i do know it should be 60psi @ 5500rpms, but you could google to get the specs for other rpms. If it it overheating, your oil is not low, and the oil light is on then i would say you probably have low pressure. It is unlikely that the sensor would fail, however like someone did say the wiring could very easily gone bad if it got grounded somewhere.

well i did found out that oil pump doesn't work and as far as the thermo i need to replace it and see if the motor doesn't overheat. maybe because the motor is made of titanium. but that doesn't matter. or what do u ppl think.
and for all u Bob Marley fans don't get caught... lol

If new ****-fied H-T would allow me more than 3 lines of a signature, the bolded magical statement you made would be there.
BTW, bob marley and his music suck. just sayin.
its all good.... some people are telling me that it could be the oil pickup and it could be one of the problems instead of the oil pump.
if you are having oiling problems that may be it, how did you determine the oil pump is bad by the way? i would hate to see you start tearing things apart if it's only the sensor or something dumb.
true... ok today what i did was i checked the oil pickup just to see if it was clogged, but it wasn't, so what I'm going to do is change the sensor to see if thats the problem, but can i replace it with the d15b sensor, and would it work?
ok, i'm 99% sure they will be interchangeable, i've never personally done it so i can't be 100%. hopefully that's it and not the oil pump, also be sure to check wiring, if you have the insulation rubbed off a wire it may cause an intermittent light, or the light to be on all the time.
