i need somebody with knowledge to cear this up for me. I have a 90 std civic that i swapped a 5spd into. its almost complete. The axels dont seem to lock into the tranny. Everybodys telling me im out of my mind. The tranny is out of a 91 lx sedan. What axels do i need off out what car? The correct answer would be appreciated. Thanks
the Std axles are different. you cant use axles from a 4-speed tranny for 5-speed tranny. the lengths and ends of the axles are smaller
only thing different is the outer spline count and size try getting the axles started into the tranny then tap the outer end with a hammer should work
USE YOUR STD AXLES
USE YOUR STD AXLES
sorry i read that wrong last night. im pretty sure you just need to get the axles in the tranny then LIGHTLY tap with a hammer to seat the C-clip from the axle into the tranny. then just reinstall into your hub.
