New battery and altenator but its not charging why?
i have a 99ex and the problem started when my car started cutting out the radio went first then it died, first i replaced the battery checked it with the voltometer it read around 13 then started it up and it read around 12 so i replaced the altenator. I took the old one to autozone and they said it was charging so i figured it must of been the belt i put the new alt on with the belt today started it up and its reading right around 12.20 lower than when its off. From what i understand it should be around 13-14 when charging, anyone have any advice on what is going on?
Make sure there is 12V+ on the black/yellow lead going to the alt., [with ign. switch in the run position] if not check the alt. fuse.
Voltage at batt. terminals should be around 12.5V, engine not running, and 13.5V with engine running. 94
