head gasket help
I just bought an 96 integra gsr. It has a blown head gasket and i have not been able to find anything on how to put a new one on. I'm not a complete idiot, i know how to put a head gasket on. I just have no idea how to put everything back together once done. My real problem is that head was already tore apart when i got it. The cams are out and everything. The only thing i have to do is pop the header off and pull the head. But how do i tell how to put the cams back in? Any info you guys can tell me would be awesome. write ups with pictures would also be greatly appreciated!
i just rebilt my gsr its really easy make sure your crank is on top dead center. and make sure you get the cams in the right place like exaust gose on toward the front. pretty much just put assembly lube all over the cams put the brakets that hold them on the start tighting them down starting in the middle and torque them to spec. then put your timing belt on after that make sure your timing marks line up. after you get that in you want to ajust your valves to spec its a pain in the *** on dohc. well have fun
Look here,
once you get the head back on, follow these steps to install the cams and timing belt.

Im no engine builder but i think the cam caps have to stay in there original order. I could be wrong. I know when building some motors the main bearings are marked and go back in there original order. Hopefully they marked the cam caps or hopefully it doesnt matter. I think the trickiest part is going to be adjusting the valve lash. Don't forget to get the head checked for cracks and get it resurfaced.
