Default NEED HELP .....well advise

Alright so I have an issue with my iol pan gasket....it always seeps out the back side....always.I have replaced it like 2 times in as many years, but it always ends up seeping oil,and needless to say it drives me crazy.

So my question is can I just scrap the gasket and use a tube of honda bond or RTV gasket maker instead? And if so has anyone else done this.....
IM over spending the money on gaskets just to have them leak,I have tried everything.....looser than specs, rihgt on spec, and tighter than specs, and it always seeps.

Are you putting a dab of hondabond on the corners of the gasket? This is a must. Sometimes the gasket bolt washer/spacer thats built into the gasket will get stuck on the corner studs. But this will cause a big oil leak. It never hurts to check anyway.

Not honda bond but rtv....same difference, but thats not where it leaks from.....its the back side of the engine, right above the oil plug....but in the center. At first I just thought it was over tightened and the gasket was smashed, but that wasnt the case.

maybe the contact surface of the pan or the block is dented? or maybe the gasket was overlapping the bolt hole and a bolt was catching it?... a leaking oil pan shouldnt be to hard to fix..
get a new oil pan.

yes.

on the aluminum pans, honda bond is used.

gaskets are used on the steel pans.

when i tried to order an "oil pan gasket" for my 97 lude, they told me at the shop that they dont even make them. from what i understand you just use a tube of gasket maker. so go for it!
