my driver side door on my 94 sol si doesnt work from the outside. the lock works, but the handle that you pull to open the door doesnt have anything attached to it anymore it just moves back and forth. now i have to get in from the passenger side and open my door. im thinking about just re-keying the doors and having seperate keys for the doors and one for the ignition and trunk. wish i had a camera. does anyone know where to get new locks? dealer or somewhere else?

 

try junk yard there sometimes they leave the key in the ignition or autozone but there gonna charge you an arm an a leg....

 

do they sell the whole door mechanism and the lock? or just one or the other.

 

the lock is detachable. resue your old ones. get a new handle or adjust the door lever

 

my old 95 dx had the same problem...so i took the door panel off and the plastic peice holding the metal rod that unlocks the car door broke and the rod was hanging free. maybe this happened

 

could have that been from someone trying to pull as hard as they can on the outside door handle?
