Hey what up HT,
I got this used distributer cap here in my hands and Im just trying to learn a thing or too. My helms manual gives me a profile view of a distributor cap and shows how the rotor and secondary winding are conected. Does anyone know what the resistance should be across those two points on the distributor cap?

If you're trying to measure the resistance between the coil secondary 'output' and one of the 4 spots where a sparkplug wire connects, it'll measure infinity. The rotor doesn't actually touch the contacts that the sparkplug wires connect to.
If you're trying to measure the resistance between the coil secondary 'output' and the tip of the rotor...ideally it'd be 0 ohms.

Sometimes my car feels week. And Ive narrowed it down to the ignition system. I put together my dizzy using the casing pick-ups and coils from three different distributors. I cant really buy a new Dizzy so Im kinda just trying to make this hybrid dizzy run to the best of its ability. And one way I thought of doing is checking out the cheap rotor, cap, and wires that I bought from advance months ago.
