Transmission JACK--to Drop Engine
I looking over what others have done when removing the engine from the bottom, but none have really used a transmission jack or and engine adaptor to attache to the jack.
Based on the dimensions of the block, being nearly 14.5 inches tall from top of the block to the oil pan. (b18a1 the engine will have no head) There should not be any interference none what so ever. just to let you guys know I cant use a cherry picker, as I dont have enough room. Just wanted to see if anyone had used a similar method or dont something like it before.

if you have a buddy helping you, you should be fine with a regular jack. the hardest part about taking out the engine from the bottom is getting the car high enough, not balancing the engine on the jack. i've put in a few engines from the bottom and always used the regular jack that we've got.
well with the head off the engine it needs to be as high as 24", that will provide plenty of clearance. with some heavy duty jack stands those with the base of 12x12 it should reach the height. But i guess you answered my question indirectly Thanks I will try to put some pic's using the transmission jack.
haha my jack doesn't go high enough so i'd stack wood blocks on top of it to raise the car high enough. i'd use random wheels and wood blocks to prop the car on. it's ghetto, but it works
. but yeah, let us know if the tranny jack makes it easier or not.
