Stay with GSR or go with H22A?
Ok guys I have a 99 teg gsr and I have nothing done to it yet. I am wondering if I should stay with the gsr or go big with the H22? I am looking for the long run for which one will perform better, I have the money to do all the necessary upgrades for the H22 but am needing advice on whether or not to go with the H22 or stay and upgrade the GSR. I am aware of the hp difference from 170hp GSR to the 200hp H22. Please guys leave your honest true opinion and why or why not. Thanks.
P.S I am new to here and if I messed up in anyway shape or form please let me know so I can better myself, thanks.

to gain 3ths why even swap? You can do some bolt ons or go turbo with the B18c and be good. Not to mention the clearance issues with h22's or the handling difference with the added weight.

Maybe it only run's 13.5 because it wasn't stock internal. Personally I think H22A's are crappy unless H2B. But that's just my opinion.
If you have a good set up that came with your car why change it, and make problems for yourself. I would stay with the GSR and build it, my EG has an NA GSR swap that kills K's...My build is unique, and I share it with no one...But what I am trying to tell you is that you have something with much potentional...why go with an H series that has no support.
ya if you got a shitty b18b1 like my then consider a swap i would just build up your engine even though stock on stock the h22 owns but also no air and ps it isnt bad i guess once you get used to it
I'd imagine the torque of an h22 would make daily driving a bit more fun - actually going somewhere without having to upshift at 5k would be sweet, lol. An the weight of an h22 isn't that much greater than a B...
I'd still build the B though.

i say keep it stock. a lot of people might disagree but id rather buy a bone stock gsr then a fully built or boosted gsr. im just lookin at resale value tho. if u plan on keepin it for a while then i would go with boost. spend 3 grand or so and put at least 350 down to the wheels, ull spend that much with a k swap and what will u have? prolly 180-200 whp depending on what mods u use. so yeah i say stock or boost
Save the money you would spend on the swap and invest in a budget turbo setup. You can piece together a nice setup for around $3k and make ~300whp safely on the stock block with a good tune.
but thats my advice. dont swap, boost it
Thank you so much guys you have been a lot of help I really appreciate all the advice you guys have given me. I know this is probly where I should start a new thread but... What if I run the ls vtec? Is it really worth it? Cause I know the ls has a little bigger displacement than the gsr and I hear a lot of people running ls vtec on their gsr, so good idea or no?
Again guys thank you for your help

you could make a really decent LS VTEC using the pistons out of your gsr. if you go that rout i recomend replaceing all the usuals oil+water pump, gaskets and seals. the rist pins will line up but you'll have to take to a machineist shop for the bore and i cant remember if i had to have the piston slightly altered or the rod but they'll be able to figure that out at the shop. its a nice increase in torque and you'll still be able to turn 8 without fear of breaking anything. had mine for tw0 years in hatch and ran 14.01 best time with intake header and exhaust, stock gsr ecu and everything else stock. cost around 600 bucks
