Icon2 F20 Transmission sent with H22 Swap!!

I just realized four years later that I got a EDM (F20A4) (M2J4) with my H22 Complete Swap I purchased from JSpec Auto.

I've had no problems with this Trans but kinda mad it took me this long to realize why my gearing was so long.. and times at track were not where they should'v been.

I called JSPEC they said they don't import European motors/trans which makes sense but why did I get this one?

I'm pretty pissd.. what do you guys think? Got my old H23 trans laying around.. would I be better off with it, Gearing wise?

Any possibility of getting my M2A4 trans from them.. or better yet paying the difference and getting M2B4? or is that prolly out of the question

If 1/4 mile times is what your'e after, Go with the M2A4 or B4 if you have the cash. But Ill tell you my hatch with the T2W4 is a pussycat on the freeway.

I didn't check the trany code until now, I didn't think anything of it.

Your H23 trans is geared shorter in all the gears, def swap it in.

okay, my mistake, the transmission is "H2J4" after searching i found out it's from a JDM Accord, but cannot find any gearing or any other information on it.

Now I know why it was such a pain in the *** to install.. grrr

Is my H23 Trans still a better route, or is this one probably the same?

I want the M2A4 I paid for!!!

This was JspecAuto.com out of Canada for future reference.

Bummer! Well at least they didnt scratch the label off. Ive heard of some places that do just that. FYI, hmotorsonline and tigerjapanese have always been solid for me.

I have transmission H2J4...can't find any specs or info on it. All I know is it's from a JDM Accord. I've searched extensively (not on the list in the FAQ). Any help?

any help on the H2J4??

I've searched all trany code lists and all forums.

It's weird because most accord transmissions start with 'P' and prelude with 'M' and this is 'H'

How do you figure that ? Shorter geared than both plus and has lsd, which a4 does not. As far as I know no company makes a shorter gear set so how would an m2a4 or b4 be better ? I have an a4 and on the highway as soon as I shift to 5th the car just dies, maybe slightly higher top speed with the a4 but the rpms will drop further. And as far as 1/4 mile goes there is no question to what is the best geared trans.

The A4 and B4 have the same gear ratios. He only listed M2A4-B4, M2S4, and M2J4 as his options. With the A4 being the shortest geared between the three. 1st thru 3rd in the M2A4 are the same as the M2F4. Which is the shortest geared tranny for the US market. Slight variation in 3rd however. Ive never heard of anyone in 5th gear when they crossed the 1320 line unless they have a sick final drive! Alot of poeple prefer the longer 5th on the JDM trans. Youve heard, "Waste the competition 1st thru 4th, cruise in 5th" By the way, There are a bunch of companies that make final drive gears for the H-F series trannys. SO WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????

I said gear sets not final drive obviously there are a few companies to choose from there. And you said "pussycat on the highway" you were not talking 1/4 mile, therefore 5th could be used. I see where you were coming from though since you were only comparing those few trannys. But regardless the t2w4 trans in the 1/4 would be best.

For sure! It would be nice if we were spoiled like the b-series guys. They have gear sets galore!
