Hey what up HT,
My car recently has been breaking up in the rain. I have a strong feeling its the wires. While Im at it I would like to get a new cap and rotor. I just wanted to ask you guys where you would buy these things. Let me give you some info about my car. 93 hatch with bone stock LS in the bay with plans of going boost. In the past I have totally disassembled a distributor and put it back together this time soldering in new pickups. This was very educational and I got some tech questions for someone who knows a thing or two about distributors. Back to the original question I put in a poll for you guys to choose.

ever see the pro's run stock wire's why because they are the best.
they last and are made to fit.
or buy a cheap set of wires and see how long they last.

i'm not doubting anyones knowledge here, but.... is there any dyno results, or comparrisons done with this? i mean, stock vs aftermarkt?
If you have honda plug wires on it i'd make sure they're bad before replacing them. they're normally good for the life of the car. I would suspect the dist cap from your symptoms. pour some water on the cap while the engine is running. Does that make the engine stumble or stall? Then do the same with the plug wires.
It hurts my feelings to see a set of junk ignition wires under the hood of a Honda. Most likely these wires were replaced for perfectly better OE wires.I can not tell you how many aftermarket ignition components I have seen fail. I have a car in my shop right now 92 accord was "tuned up" by the dad with AfroZone wires 2 weeks ago. 2 of the wires are arcing 1 at the boot(dizzy side) and 1 throught the sleeve(engine side) They are at least in their stays and not self induced failure. These wires are like condoms 1 time use only. THey are inferior in every way to a OEM Honda wire. For a third of the price what do you expect. I have had MSDs, Nologys- failed on Dyno ouch, Accels, you name it all had a problem well before the OE would have. Don't reply and say it is because they were not secure and were damaged no I know better. The materials, workmanship of OE is just better. I have had good luck with aftermarket NGKS and Denso wires also but for my ride and any ones I like I prefer the Hondas. One thing true about Honda is that they don't mix well with aftermarket ignition and brake components. For best quality OEM is your best bet.
