not neccessarily. sounds more like the battery or alternator has taken, or is currently taking a crap on you. its quite possible to still have enough voltage to run the lights, radio, and other accessories, but lack the juice to start the car. while it still starts take it to advance/autozone and have them do a free battery/alternator check.

stupid question... is that a stick? have you tried jumping it? my battery died after leaving my lights on for too long with the car off and I jumped it myself ok.

Smart man, check the obvious and when its free best things to check. If you can get it started then disconnect the battery to check the alternator, but if you cant get it started then bring in the started and have them check that if they can. If you had a good amp clamp/voltmeter you could do it yourself plus just a good investment for later.
