Having trouble finding PR3 Pistons at the Honda Stealership. Help!!
I'm in the process of rebuilding my tired B17 and I am trying to order some new oversize pistons from Honda. I asked them to look up Del Sol SI (they used 1994) B16 pistons, but the part number came back as a p30. I probably sound silly, but I am wondering what year and vehicle I need them to look up for some PR3 Pistons. (I'm using my brother's employee account since he works there.) But the thing is, I looked up P30 and thats the JDM b16a motor. This would make sense for my build since I want about 11.0:1 CR when I am done with my motor and the p30's would be better for that than the pr3 (about 2/10ths more compression using p30). But is the piston for a 1994 Del Sol SI really a P30 piston?? I doubt it, but maybe someone out there might know. Thanks everyone for your input. Honda part numbers might help if you have them handy. Thanks again.
Just get OS P30's if you are just doing a stock rebuild.
If you plan to build the motor and put cams in, use PCT (CTR pistons).

Not all, but a majority of US Honda dealers can not get PR3's.
We can get P30's all day long
Standard Size P30's Honda #13010-P30-G00
Oversized P30's Honda #13020-P30-G00

I think I've decided to get ITR pistons .25 mm oversize. I can get them for $36 and some change each at Acura. Rings are probably around $28 per piston. They won't give me the compression I really want, but they have that skirt coating and wrist pin oil holes. I'll have to shave my connecting rod's small end sides down 1mm each side to fit them, but whatever. I wanted CTR Pistons, but, there might be clearance issues with aftermarket cams. Maybe when I rebuild the motor that is in my teg now. I was lucky enough to find a spare B17 block. My B17 in the Teg is ultra tired, low comp (115,72,82,88 psi) cyls 4-1. Couldnt even feel vtec although I could hear it through my AEM intake and out my RSR cat-back. I'm still waiting on my final measurements of my crank journals and such so I can order bearings. My block is stamped BBBB so I am assuming that I will want to run one color tighter of bearings. Not sure yet. Thanks for your help, although I am kinda ramblin on.
I think Honda superceded te pr3 part and replaced it with the P30. No, the 99-00 SI are P30, I have an intake manifold from one of those engines, and I had my Honda Parts guy look it up. They are P30
