Default EG Civic subframe help

Hey I am having trouble with my subframe. The self locking bolt for the front lower arm just spins, they are not stripped, I even bought new ones just in case. But they just spin and won't lock. How do I fix this? Not fun to drive like this.

The nut that is inside the subframe is welded to the subframe. If that weld breaks then it will just spin like yours is.

Are you trying to remove it or torque it down?

To tighten it, shove something in the access hole underneath where that nut is (on the subframe) and try to wedge it to stop the nut from rotating.

If you are trying to remove the bolt you can try the same thing as above but be careful as that once the bolt is removed that nut will go where ever it wants. You'll have to cut into the bottom of the subframe reweld that nut and then seal the hole you cut.

Well that explains why both sides just spin. I removed the bolts and put a brace there. Now I took brace off and can't get them to torque down. So you are saying the nut is just sitting somewhere in the sub frame and I need tocut into it to find it and put it back on and weld it down again?

Same thing happened to me, I decided to swap out the sub frame.

Wasn't very hard with the engine out.

you're going to have to cut into it, angle grinder or torch, it's your weapon of choice. Just be sure to patch/re-weld what you cut.
