Fixing Rear Brakes + rotors -- caliper help
i had same problem few days ago... Go to locall part store and get a rear piston tool there cheap . mine cost 10$... and u hook it up to ratchet and turn clockwise. and it will go back in. ORRR i also figured out u can use pair of pllyers... and just be carefull not o puncsure the rubber around piston. Good luck... should be little tight at first when turning...it will get much easyer...
Thanks, we ended up finding similar advice that said to use a Rear Caliper Piston Rewind Tool. NAPA was closed at 5:30, got to carquest at 6pm and the manager was happy to keep it open to assist us with what we were looking for. It was a little square box with different pins on it for different types of caliper pistons.
Turned clockwise and voila! it was working. All this time we were scratching our heads as to why we couldn't push it in with our homebrew c-clamps.
3 hours for the first set as we were scratching our heads a whole bit--20 minutes for the second side. Couldn't have gone easier and now I know how to change pads/rotors. NO MORE GOING TO THE MECHANIC!

p.s. Hope this helps somebody looking for a how to depress a rear caliper piston.

I think just about every DIY'er has run into that problem the first time. I think I tried using a screw driver at one point, until a neighbor saw me struggling and had rewind tool for me to barrow.
