Hello i have a Honda civic and whenever i dont drive it for like 2-3 days it runs all funny. It already happened 3 times, First time i paid to get it fixed and they said it didnt have power and they did something to the throttle body. Second time it wasnt that bad so i drove it for a while and the problem fixed itself. This time i havent driven it for 3 days and it chokes up when driving and i can smell the gasoline. What should i do? pet me know thanks

 

I would try cleaning your fuel injectors or taking some Seafoam and running that in your gas tank for a couple tanks.

 

Is the CEL ON? Does it work?

When were the plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor last replaced? Has the ignition timing been checked?

 

I have replace the plugs and wires not too long ago. but not eh distributor ca or rotor. And i haven't check the ignition timing. Im going to go pick up some seafoam and try it out, as well as check the ignition timing. thanks

 

is your cat old? i would say replace that too. maybe its getting choked up there. too bad you live in Cali id say ripit off and put a cat delete there

 

At least inspect them for wear or corrosion.

 

it sounds like plugs and wires to be honest but i agree, maybe the cat is losin compression

 

ron jon is right, i think we skip that alot. i had my motor rebuild, startd and it idled funny, no not the dizzy. checked everything. not went back to the dizzy, and replaced the cap cuz i had a new one sittn around...idled fine after that, the metal nubs in the dizzy cap had just a tad of corrosion cauzing goofy idle

sounds ignition related like said before check everything.
