Default Turbo set up with a CAT

I am trying to find a good cat for my setup. I have never run a cat with my setup before and I don't know what I should be looking for. I have been running a straight through exhaust but it is too small so I am upgrading to a custom 2.5" exhaust but I wanted to go legit and have a CAT. does anyone know a good cat to run with a 2.5" DP and exhaust. I know I will loose some performance but that's okay.
My set up is jdm b18c1 drag kit on hondata s200.

Go with magniflow. I passed emissions with their 3". Check out the 53006 or the 91000

If you decide to go 3" with the exhaust pm me. I may sell mine since im making it a race car

**Edit** Why not go 3" ???

Okay cool magniflow it is. I figured I would go with 2.5" because my DP is 2.5" and I didn't want it to be too loud. Do you run a resonator with your cat? and how loud is your set up?
Thanks for your help.

It seems 2.5 makes sense for you. The sound difference between a 2.5" and 3" is small. Both make noise, the cat helps though. Plus turbo cars are quieter than N/A. I dont know anyone on here running a resonator with a cat. Both of those together will hurt your performance pretty bad. I wouldn't do it. You spent your money on performance, dont hurt it. Its hard to say how loud it will be, thats all in your muffler

I was running a custom 3" with a Vibrant cat, and vibrant resonator. the resonator is straight through so I don't think any of it hurt me, but now I have a test pipe and the resonator. the sound difference to me is the same.

A pile of bolt on, aftermarket exhausts for turbo cars (STI, EVO, 1.8t etc..) use resonators and cats in the same system. So to balance out you not knowing anyone that runs that setup, I'm gonna add a half a millon people or so...

A resonator flows pretty damn close to what a piece of straight tube does. I say fit as many as you can to help mellow it out. I used to run a 3" cat, two 3" resonators and a 3" muffler and it sounded really nice and deep.

On another setup, I made over 300whp at 11psi on my stock b16 with a cat and a 2.5" exhaust. that was awesome for a car you want to put some miles on and be able to hear the radio still.

Well I guess I will start out without a resonator and if it is too loud for me I can always add one later.. right?

I just ordered a magnaflow cat 91006. oval shaped 2.5" in and out single bung. And I also ordered a 2.5" magnaflow oval muffler (5"x8" and 14" long) to go with it. I didn't get a tip cause I may like it without. Anyway I think this will be a good setup for me. Thanks everyone for your help. I will post pics when it's all together.

What was your setup when you passed emmisions? (injectors, etc.) and what state?

I have a swapable 3" catco cat but I've always had a friend do my inspections because I figured it wouldnt pass.

I have a fully built and sleeved B18 with precision 1000cc injectors, a single walbro 255 and the 3" high flo cat. I passed in Colorado with this set up, Im running E85. Its all in the tune. My tuner charged me an extra $85 for the emission tune while he did my 20 psi tune. Now that I have the tune, no more emmision issues for me!!

Cool man, hopefully you like them. If its too loud for you, you can always add a resonator. Post sound clips too!

hey guys, I know this thread is old but my project went on hold for a while. So here are some pics of the new exhaust installed. Sorry about the poor quality phone pics. I'm getting tuned next week and I will post sound clips after.

Yeah this it's the same setup. It sounds great at idle but I haven't revved it up much because there isn't any engine management because I'm in the process of upgrading to hondata s300 and I had to send off my old s200. It will be tuned by Tuesday if everything goes right. At idle it sounds like a stock car.
