i had to use a torch to heat it up but you can't heat it up to much you'll ruin your wheel bearing.....i had to take the whole spindle off and take it to tech to use the monster snap on impact came right off
do you guys think using that rust melter thing that you buy on autozone going to work if i buy it or just take the whole thing off and go to a shop and ask them to take it off???
I had the same problem when i did my swap so i used the torch, impact gun and a impact hammer and nothing, so i ended up the torch a chisel and cut the nut in half once i was done i discovered that it was threaded in a wrong way.Good luck.

did you make sure you un spiked the nut? if you look closly at the nut it should be pinched/ spiked/ hammered into a groove to lock the nut. let me see if i can find a pic....
it's not the best shot, but if you look at the nut. the right side of the nut. it's pinched in towards the axle. make sure that you un pinch this or no matter what you to, you won't be able to un screw the nut.

oh, and don't forget to pinch the nut back on. don't want to risk the nut backing off.

it's funny to see people try to take off there axle for the first time and are like, what the hell? why can't i take this stupid nut off?????
just need to look closely and there you go, it's off.
lol yeah its de-pinched and idk what the heck is wrong with it but i got hella mad so i just took the whole thing from axle through the disc rotor and tommorow im bringing that thing on the shop to get it off i spend a $140 buying my own air compressor and impact gun and its use less damnt!!!!!
make sure it's de-pinched all the way, even a little bit will hold it back.
and if it's still that bad, try some PB blaster, and some heat.
if that don't work, try and find a shop that has a 1" impact gun. yes 1". that'll take off anything, period.

I've always gotten them off with just a 1/2" breaker bar. Put it on the nut and just jump on it haha. Hasn't failed me ever.
haha yeah thats why when my mechanic called me and asking me hows my car doing i told him the axle nut is being a b**ch i just asked him to take it off so i took off axle with the whole disc rotor stuck to it and bringing it tommorow since my car has no engine there is no way i can bring my damn car to the shop so i took it off and lets see whats going to happen tommorow thanks guys for the help ill let you guys know what happen tommorow...
That's why i love my 1/2 inch drive Ingersol Rand Titanium impact. Sucka gots some torque. There isn't much that it won't get off. Except for our harmonic balancer bolts. I need a 3/4 inch gun for that. Even more torque.
I had one hell of a time on my EK the other day. Broke my 1/2", another 1/2" extension and tried a 3/4" drive plus 5-6ft of leverage could not get it off!! I was afraid I was going to break the gears in the tranny so I gave up. It's not always due to inexperience, sometimes they can be extremely diffcult to get off!! (espeicially if you don't have a real torch)
Ended up calling a friend who works for a truck tire repair shop. His service truck has a 1" gun.
If you can drive the car I suggest you pull up to a shop that works on big trucks, cranes, heavy machinery etc and get the nut cracked loose. People are always happy to show off the power of a 1" gun if you ask nicely

It's also a lot harder to get bolts and nuts off if you life up north. I was born and raised in Dayton, Oh., and i lived in Pa. for a year. I got a good taste of rustiness when i worked at a repair shop, there. It sucked. I hate rusty northern cars. Glad i moved down south. Rust free.

**** i think i'd just cut it off w a cut off wheel if i couldn't get it. then next time i go to install the new one i'd use just a dab of anti seize on the threads to keep the rust away.
i was going to do that but i got so pissed on the damn axle nut i just decided to bring the whole thing at the shop tommorow ahahah
