Default swapping clusters...keeping milege...

Purchased a cluster with a tach to swap with my 98 DX cluster with no tach. Is there a write on how to change speedometers for the 96-00 Civic because I found one for the 92-95 but dont know if its the same.

Thanks

They're not the same. You will need a 96-00 Civic cluster.

depending on the cluster you bought, you can swap odometers. if you bought an ex cluster, just open them both up and swap the whole speedo unit, it works the same. if you bought an si or something where the gauge face is different from your current faces, you can follow the diy for the 92-95 because its very similar. i can take pictures for you if you want also, but its really quiet simple. just dont touch the faces with your fingers, and if you are changing to something with a different face, be careful removing the needles.

To swap the odo/speedo, remove the cluster bezel. Unscrew the 4 screws behind the speedo gauge and swap.

To anyone wondering the same thing, heres a how to for the older cluster which is pretty much the same thing for the 96-00 clusters. takes maybe 20 min to do the complete swap and install.
