Don't know about their hoods, but since your in So. Cal, i'd suggest stopping by ViS Racing. They have great quality CF hoods, that look and stay shiny WITH rolled edges. Don't support Autolink...they have horrible customer service!

Everyone praises VIS hoods, however they also tend to be heavier than the others. It kinda defeats the purpose of gettin a cf hood doesn't it?

quality(fit and finish) - price - weight

Pick 2

You can never have all 3 when shopping for any CF products

Well, Autolink on it's own isn't bad--it's that fat dude who everybody hates that makes them look really bad. I don't know his name, i think it's kevin, but IMO, he ruins the shops rep with such a "i know everything and your insignificant" attitude. Just ask around, many people feel the same way. Word on the ViS thing though...rice through the roof, i guess they haveta do at least one thing right! To the guy who said that it defeats the purpose of having a CF hood because maybe it's a few pounds heavier than a lighter non reinforced CF hood-- Is the VIS hood lighter than stock??? If so, it successfully accomplishes what a CF hood is meant for--WEIGHT REDUCTION....and of course, that nice look it gives to your car.

The fitting is good but there is no holes for the hoodliner. The quality on the outside is good but underneath the quality sucks. It seams rather flimsy but its holding together sofar.

Haha!...yup, haven't gone by there since I had to deal w/ him. They chipped some paint off my car while doing an install and Kevin was like "eh, it's nothing...blah blah!"....HA!..lemme chip some paint off your ride and see what you say bunghole! I think if he knows you or you're a repeat customer who goes pretty often, he's pretty cool to you...but I don't buy things every week or 2...there's other shops in socal w/ better service. I agree tho, Chris is a good guy....and Kitty's cool...but argh!...that kev bunghole!

I have seen autolinks hoods on display, and they too have rolled edges. I picked up the hood and it was light as hell. The carbon fiber just looked so thin, you could see sunlight through it. And as for the vis hood, I have 2 friends with them, and they seem a little heavier then the autolink hoods, but they fit pretty well. I just figure they are both 350.00, but I probably will get it cheaper at autolink because i go there so much. And about kevin, he was kinda rude at first, but once you go there a while, he does hook it up.

Bottom line is, you shouldn't have to make a few purchases from someone before they stop acting rude.

no doubt autolink has really good ****, but service do sucks. I went there and told them that something was wrong with my tranny, they said it was the trow-out bearing. so i bougth a new clutch and the bearing. so i get the car bak and drive it home, i popped the hood and i setill hear the same sound. i call bak and they say that it was something else. im like, WTF.....y didnt u tell me in the first place....

Anyway, they do really good work. for the clucth work. for lying about what was really wrong with my car.

Yes Kevin will come off as a dick at first, but he does give good prices here and there, and maybe he answers common questions (to him) all day long, and you know where that leads to... an attitude similar to "oh geez, here comes another buster" Hehe, maybe he is just judgmental! Maybe he didn't like your clothes you were wearing! I would say decide what type of a hood you want. I will be getting a ViS hood cause I don't want to use hood latches, some of those thinner hoods require latches and I want to feel confident that I don't need latches. In SoCal, many people make CF hoods, so as far as brand goes, there isn't many "brand name" ones...ViS, Fiber Images, Carisma (still around?), same with Benen, GtP (Import Fan), Sunny (if you call that a brand), I tend to think of them as the first ones to make hoods like how all the small private shops are making them now. For thin hoods, I think Fiber Images are the best, cause they jump on their hoods at the car show for examples of strength! Hehe, but if you want a more OEM fitment, get a ViS, its been proven over and over.
