Default Master Cutoff Switch problems

So I know there are some smart cookies here so I have this issue. Need some insight.

I am trying to figure out how to install a diode so that the trigger wire that activates the alternator or maybe "key on" power does not feed back (keeping the car running when the switch is turned off) I want to be able to run my alternator and have the car turn off when the master cutoff power switch is turned off.

The system works now as long as the alternator power feed is unplugged.

This large one is power from the switch then power to the starter then fuse box. (this used to go power from fusebox to battery to starter) Small one 6ga is NEW power feed to battery from alternator directly.

SO the question is. Where to get a diode/what kind of diode/ what wire to put the ****ing thing on. There are 4 wires coming from the alternator plug

As far as I can tell
White/blue - dash light
white/green - alt. signal output
white/red - Alt. FR Signal??? what....
black/yellow - fuse 15. Alt. SP Sensor

Manual 1998-2001integra manual.

easiest way to wire up a kill switch:
only battery and alternator on one side, everything else on the other.

Then it only cuts off the ground to the battery. The car is still grounded. The car will run off the alternator.

ok, the side that you run the battery to on the cut off switch, take the wire that goes from the alt to the fuse panel, and run that wire to the same side as the battery. thus cutting off all power to the car by flipping the swtich

must be the same way I have it now then? I havent tried it like that yet( I had the switch like this when it was running to the fuse panel.

So if it is wired like I have it know it shouldnt feed back via the trigger wire in the ecu or key?

OR am I mistaken and the alt charge wire cannot go to + side of the battery and must go to battery side of the cut off switch itself?

no it wont, you have to have the battery and alternator on one side of the switch. your fuse panel starter and everything else on the other. had mne hooked up that way like everyone elses for 3 years. no issues.

what are you talking about back feeding?
if you have the alternator on the side of the fusebox and starter it will keep the car running.

when i did my cut off i ran ignition alt starter all to the + side of the battery then i ran the power from the fuse box to 1 side of the switch and then from the other side to the battery so when i turn the switch it cuts power to the fuse box and shuts the car down it works fine for me but there are other ways of doing it

I think I am an idiot. If I have it wired correctly all along..............

I think the way I have it wired now will kill the power.

The MSD box runs off power from my fuse box, the fusebox gets power from the cut off switch. When the switch is open there is power to the fusebox, when the switch is closed there is no power going to it. The ignition system also gets shut off.

This works in theory, so I will have to check it and see how everything works out when I put the motor in.

I believe that I am over thinking this process because of what someone explained to me about the process.
