Default speed sensor code p0500

does anyone know how easy it is to install this sensor on a 96 civic dx hatchback.. i found out the problem yesterday when my cel light came on and the speedometer stopped working.. does anybody have a brief writup about this??thanks any help is appreciated..

First check the VSS connector and wires before replacing the VSS itself. There are many threads on this forum where replacement of the VSS was done needlessly.

check the sensor first. this happened to me. it had gotten wet. i dried it off, cleaned it up a bit with carb cleaner and it worked fine afterwards.
