my gfs DX (D15b7) has a problem. she says as she was driving and turned left and as she was shifting into 2ed she says it grinded and all she heard was like shards of metal flying around. well i got in the car and i could put it in every gear without pressing the clutch in...the clutch is only slightly looser that it was normal. but the car will not move in any gear??? so is this the clutch or what???

 

So you could put it in gear while the car is running, but still won't go anywhere in gear? That sounds a bit more serious than just the clutch. If it's the transmission, a used one in good condition could be found a junkyard for fairly cheap.

If it sounded like shard of metal flying around i think it would be safe to assume its not the clutch. Remove the tranny and take a look inside. Same thing happened to be in a 94? dodge avenger. I didnt keep long enough to figure out the problem but i know i cracked the transmission housing in like 3 places. Diamond Star transmission FTL
