OK, so i got a 1992 civic lx. i just swaped a jdm d15b v-tech. im using the non v tech wire harness, and a p28 ecu, the car starts and a strong smell of burned gas and smoke comes out the muffler. another thing is that when i give it gas and keep it steady at and rpm it sounds like if my car had a 2 step launch kit, if any one can pleace give me some advice on what to do i would appreciate it. thx HONDA-TECH (feel fre to ask any ?'s)

 

IAT plug is mixed up with the IACV plug
or you have the MAP sensor plug switched with the TPS plug

i have kinda the same problem i have a 94 civic ex toke out my 1.6 vtec and put in a jdm 1.5 vtec i dont c how u ca mix up plugs u can only go so far to eack plug on the civic ex and mine still smells rich and when u get it to 8 grand its drops gas in it bad lol

 

where is the IAT plugg located? do you have any pics of what it looks like?

 

the map sensor and tps sensor have the same style of plug....so yes you can mix them up. on the manifold at the back is where the iat would plug into.
