apex-i WS2 is relatively quiet. If you want it to be absolutely quiet though, your only option is stock.

Yeah or pretty much any kind of OEM "style" exhaust would be "Relatively" quiet. Its the straight through exhausts that usually raise the sound level drastically. If you are having all the piping replaced make sure to use a good resonator. They act as sort of a pre-muffler.

Vibrant super quiet resonator and Vibrant stealth muffler sound perfect together.

Best answer.

I had that on muffler on my EJ1. Stock intake, stock header, OEM cat and exhaust to the WS2. It sounded great, OEM-like with a little more punch. It was about the same volume and tone as the new Civic Si stock exhaust, which is to say, it's very quiet, but it lets you hear it a little when you get on the gas.

Of course, for the absolute quiet, put a resonator and an OEM or OEM replacement muffler on there. That's kind of lame though, if you have the chance, why not upgrade the sound and get something that flows a little better?

well, im just using what i have available and just buying a muffler. i think my resonator on my sol is stock so im gonna use that. i have headers too which im sure make it a lil louder. I just need it to be cali emissions legal and quiet enough to hear myself talk. preferably, not stock

twin loop mufflers sound good, i'm not sure how good of quality that one is though... being 30 bucks and all

if you want a good sounding muffler you're probably gonna have to spend $100 or so.

you can get a WS2 universal muffler for $200

oh, and if you have stock piping, no muffler is going to sound that great.

Why do you want exhaust? Performance? Or just audible driving pleasure?

I showed him a video of a twin loop and he said it was way too loud. ugh. i told him it was just the camera sitting RIGHT NEXT TO THE MUFFLER. hes dumb.....

Sounds like the only thing that will satisfy your dad is stock.

I would get some custom 2.25" piping bent at an exhaust shop, and then have the stock muffler and a magnaflow resonator welded on. Or you could get an 8th gen Si muffler welded on (onto 2.25 piping and magnaflow resonator)... that would sound/look good without being too loud.

Honestly, I gotta tell ya..

I have a FULL 2.5" exhaust, 18" Flowmaster perforated core 2.5" resonator, and a magna flow muffler with a Meagen (Type-R knock off) 4-1 header with a tapered dual wall 3" tip and it is pretty quiet.. Nice idle, you hear it a little while you're driving, and not so loud that everyone looks at you when you're romping on it.. Made good numbers on the dyno too..

that sounds like a good setup. i was lookin at magnaflow resonators but ill look up flowmaster too. and ill hit up the local import shop. i have no clue how thick the piping is that im getting but i know i need a resonator and new muffler. I explained that not having the resonator is why my exhaust is making most of its noise and he gets it and is willing to work with me on affording everything

dude, get the Apex'i WS2 and call it a day. It's been suggested over and over, it's the best out there. I bet you could even find an eBay copy for cheap that would do the job almost as well. My friend bought a Vibrant copy (the flat black one) off eBay and it sounded pretty awesome on his DC2.
