Hmm maybe around $1000 or less. Yes, they are rare but they are just a stroked b16.

If you had the tranny too then you might be able to get a little more. Good condition low millage cable YS1s are hard to come by. But like itr1334 said, its pretty much just a B16.

I saw one sold around my area for about 1.5-2k but it came full with an aftermarket header etc.
But if it came with the orginal db2 body... now that's a different story

I wont pay a thousand dollars for it but I am looking for one so when you get it hit me up and well negotiate a deal. and btw the b17 is not a stroked b16 the displacement of a b16 is a little over 16**cc's the b17 shares the exact same displacement. it was marketing that discontinued the b17 stamp and continued the b16. research displacement for the two engines and you will see what I mean. just fyi

produca2: I would say you need to do some research on the b16 and b17, because they are not the same displacement. b17 is 1678cc and the b16 is 1595cc. They also have different rod stroke ratio.

which b16 are you talking about, because the obd0 b16 is indeed 1595cc, (and forgive me for not having the research handy) but I do believe the b16a2 and the SiR b16 engines have slightly larger displacement/stroke. I could be wrong but I know I have seen this information somewhere.

the B17 has the "wow" factor and thats what makes worth what people sell them for....but not as rare and not worth as much when outside of a DB2 chassis......

you could probably get 2,000-2,500 for the condition your talking about...

actually all b16s have the same displacement. 81.0 mm bore and 77.4mm stroke. b17 has a 81.0mm bore and a 81.4 stroke.

B17a1 is alot better than B16.

Black_da9, you are the few who know what a b17a1 is. it sounds like everyone else is a lowball wanna be hauler. haha

I heard the heads maybe the same, but the bottom of a b17a1 is superior to a B16. Even the high compression b16 are lesser than a B17.

Honda released the B17 in Japan, UK, Austrialia, and USDM. I heard they were introduced as early as 91 or maybe even newer overseas when the NSX was Introduced.

I have driven a b16 on a S1 transmission, it seriously lacks the torque that a b17 has.
The Rod stroke Ration of a b17 is what makes the B17 a superior engine in the B series market, that is when Honda decide to make the b18c models.

A Stock 17 can out rev any other b series.

I have raced against my friend's 2000 SI, it was close neck and neck at the streets, but on top speed, he could not keep up . and i weight more than him. So what gives?
