motor mounts

Default motor mounts

i have a type r swap on my 95 civic and i want to know if i can use ls motor mounts,my friend has some new ones and isnt using them?

hmm i wonder how much less vibration you get with the ls mounts??, compared with hasport.

let me know how your car turns out.. before i buy the hasport mounts.. what other types of oem mounts can fit on the 92-00 civics

im wondering the same thing i have a 96 hatch and im doing a gsr swap should i use ls mounts or should i go out and buy a good set of after market mountst

its a full match up. B series mounts on a B series motor. The motor is going to be moving the relative amount of a GSR swap. Vibration should be at a minimum and performance shouldn't be a big set-back.

u can use stock mounts just make sure they are good cuz i put stock ones in my eg with a b16 and it gets wheel hop LIKE A BIT$H and now i order a new set of after markt one's btw my stock teg mounts came out of a car with 270k on it.... so id say the mounts wear junk lol

I too have a Type R engine in my 1992 CX hatch, and here's the mounts you'll need - assume donor vehicle is a 5-speed just to be safe:

Timing side engine mount bracket that bolts to the block - 94-01 Integra (any model), 94-97 Del Sol VTEC

Timing side engine mount - 94-01 Integra, 94-97 Del sol VTEC, or if Civic (usually 94/95 Si/EX) has aluminum mount it can be used too

Rear t-bracket - 94-01 Integra (any model), 94-97 Del Sol VTEC

Rear mount itself that bolts to cross member - 92-95 Civic or 94-01 Integra

Topside tranny mount/bracket - 92-95 Civic or 94-01 Integra

Front transmission bracket (three bolt holes on tranny) - 94-01 Integra, 94-97 Del sol VTEC, 99-00 Civic Si

Right front lower mount that bolts under right frame rail - 92-95 Civic

A/C bracket - if not keeping A/C 94-01 Integra, if you want to keep A/C use 97 CR-V or 94-97 Del Sol VTEC bracket

A/c mount that bolts to underside of left frame rail - 92-95 Civic

I've bolded the two frame rail mounts because using Integra ones doesn't work as well. The mounts won't sit flush with the frame rails, so you're left using longer bolts and washers. Do yourself a favor and use the Civic mounts there.

As far as stifness, losing power to the wheels, etc. I've ran two different 92 Civics with B swaps for 6+ years (one of them now for 8+ years) and one had completely stock mounts, while the other has Energy suspension inserts in the two front lower mounts and rear mount only.

If it's a daily driven car and you're keeping A/C, etc. then keep stock mounts. Inserts add vibration at idle, and HASpost mounts are just too buzzy IMO. I daily drive a 1990 Civic with the aftermarket mounts (no option to use OEMs) and I'd much rather have stockers if I could. The beauty of doing any 92-00 Civic swap is it can still remain 100% civil. My mom could ride/drive my old B swapped 1992 Si with stock mounts and never say a word about it. She rod in my wagon with poly mounts and asked if something was wrong because of the buziness.

I just used the side Hasports and a stock rear on my old GSR swap and had no driveability problems and no vibration. Also launched pretty good without wheel hop.

Correct.

It's been a good while since I've done an EK swap, but I'm pretty sure you'll want 99-00 Civic Si mounts pretty much everywhere for that swap. I know for a fact the timing side bracket/mount is 100% different as is the rear T bracket.

It's a 1.8L engine, it's not like it's an LS7 or something.

i was gonna buy a Energy suspension insert kit but wasnt sure if i get the 92-95 cvic kit or 94-01 integra kit.
