Default Odyssey Transmission help for SECOND owner?

Anyone ever hear of Honda helping a SECOND owner? My 99 Ody needs a tranny at 89,000 miles. I've had it for 4 months. The original owner gave me all paperwork, including the original sticker from the window. I replaced 50% of the fluid, which had fine metal dust in it, and the drain plug magnet was thick with it. The tranny isn't toasted yet, but drives pretty questionably at times.... Still not sure if the original owner knew it was failing....he's a lawyer, sooooo, yeah, probly!

I am a tech at a Honda dealer. Honda will most likely goodwill it or service might do a 50/50 split on the trans. Being honest with them will get you a long way. Believe me I have seen some crazy stuff get warrantied. Explain the situation and American Honda will do you right. At least that is what i have witnessed at my dealership. Good luck to you.
