advice please, jdm b18c rebuild
Im sure you guys get a ton of threads about this, i have tried searching etc but to many pages to look through all at once and with my limited computer and time i just needed to post a thread to get some answers.
What i have is a obd1 jdm b18c gsr long block. It hasnt run in over 2 years so i plan to rebuild it. I plan to stay NA but am not looking for serious power increase. Im mainly looking for a mild, solid, stronger, and reliable build. Now i am very very new to the rebuilding process since i have not run anything other than a gsr with an intake manifold exhaust and header, so sorry for the lack of knowledge. I am putting my power goal at a 180whp standpoint as of now. Money isnt really an issue but again im looking for a medium build. So now, my questions are as follows:
1. Does anyone know a reputable machine shop in the Philadelphia area where i can get the rebuild and reassembly done?
2. Can anyone give me a specific part guide list and what i should consider for the machining process ie bore size, mill, and hone, in order to attain my power goal?
I understand i am not knowledgeable, I understand i can search and more than likely find the answers i am looking for, however my time is limited and i am just looking for some answers so i can get my db7 moving, so please dont flame me
any help would be greatly appreciated guys...thanks so much in advanced.

I just dropped my block off at speed equipment corp. They are on street rd. in bensalem. I can't comment on their work as this is the first time I have used them. The machinist seemed like a knowledgeable guy.

Sorry, I don't get on here a whole lot.
First they are going to tank the block to clean it up. Then they are going to measure out the roundness of the cylinders to see what it will need to be bored to. Then once I know that I will order pistons and drop them off they will then deck, bore, and hone the block. They are also checking the crank for straightness and micro polishing it.
As far as price goes...
I think the bore and hone is 120
Decking is another 90
Tanking????? maybe 50
I think the work on the crank is 70
I have been toying with the idea of sleeving the block. They do that as well. I'm just not sure if funds are sufficient.
Good luck with everything. Maybe I'll see you on street rd one day
