I have a 92 cx with a d16z6 swap in it, It started sputtering and missing little by little. now it's doing it almost all the time.. sometimes it runs fine and sometimes it sputters, loses power and sounds like a subaru, and judging by my MPG and the smell of the car.. it smells like gas.. running rich? Anyone else have this problem?.

 

if you smell gas and is sputtering then it would make sense that your not igniting the fuel which means you dotn have spark on one cylinder or more.

check condition of your spark plugs. see which one is black since a dark color plug means that cylinder is running rich.

when it is sputtering pull each plug wire with the car running and which ever plug wire DOES NOT make the engine sound diffrently when pulled will be the cylinder your looking for.

could even be a leaking fuel system if your smelling the fuel. normally you wouldnt smell fuel from lack of spark.

but find out which cylinder is misfiring.

I pulled the plugs and they had black around the bottom but the prong was white.. looked burnt? or is this normal
