Icon2 4th gen trans will bolt into a 5th gen prelude?

Can anyone verify that the USDM 4th gen VTEC 5-speed trans will drop into my 5th gen prelude without any trouble? I'm 95% sure it will be fine, but maybe soneone here knows for sure.

thanks!

How about the U2Q7 trans from the 98-01 Accord Type-R?

you might have to tap a hole in the casing so the mount lines up. other then that it will fit fine.

Haven't seen a EUDM Accord tranny but I have a JDM Accord tranny in my car, no external differences to speak of...

Any H or F engine's trans will bolt in without any hiccups. Any chance you can get Mfactory to make close ratio's for the H22 trans'?

Is that legal in HC?

Nevermind, it appears that it is in H2 and H1, if the ATR uses an H series engine. I can't remember if it came with the H or F engine...

Do the engine and trans have to be usdm H22 in H2?

Don't have to be USDM. JDM or EUDM is ok, as long as it's not the type-S engine. Type-S is not legal in H2. (mainly to keep cost down of building a HC race car for H2). type-S is ok in H1 though.

What we really need is someone to make a H2B kit that will work in the 4th gen / 5th gen prelude chasis. Then we have access to all sorts of gearing options. Maybe I can talk them into that.

H2B is illegal in H2, but legal in H1. In H2, H series engines must use H series trans, it does not have to be USDM engine.

Why would the U2Q7 be illegal then?

If a Type-S is illegal, is a EuroR illegal also in H2?

The EUDM Accord-R had a H22A8 (The JDM Accord Euro-R had a H22A). AFAIK they're both pretty similar to the Type-S/SiR S-spec except with better trannies and IMs...

Thanks. You're one of the few who appreciate the 6 hours of research/work that went into it.
