Default Welcome tothe world of type R's!!!

Well, i guess im lucky because i made it 3 years with my R before someone decided to try and steal it tuesday night. They smashed my windshield and pried my door open to get inside. Im so lucky they didnt get it though. Apparently they tried to stick another Acura key in the ignition because it set off the immobilizer so the car wouldn't move. But now my keys dont even start it. Well its at the shop now getting the damages fixed and a new immobilizer and 2 new keys. Ill post pics up later of the damage.

Dude that sucks!
Be glad they were clowns other wise it would have been gone.
Hope the shop you brought it to is legit... I've heard strories where the shop was shady and things went from bad to worse.
Disconnect the battery and try the matching key to the ECU and see if that works.

Good luck fixing.

yea I took it to a well respected shop in the area. I tried the battery thing. My friend works at Honda as a tech and he suggested that but it didnt work. The insurance is gonna pay for a whole new one so its all good.

Im sorry to hear that an attempt was made to steal your caR, but like you said "Welcome to the world of Type R's". Good to know that everything is being taken care of, and that you still have it. This is my biggest fear as an R owner, theft.

Glad to hear you still have it. Add some more security layers. The immobilizer usually doesn't prevent theft.

Atlanta is bad lately...a clean '98 R was just stolen/stripped there..

I live in Douglasville. Its a country *** town and not too many people even know what a type R is. I got the police involved cuz i think a jealous guy i know had something to do with it.

these are the pic... not too much damage. the main part is the immobilizer. its back from acura with new immobilizer and keys. Now its just time for body work, paint and new door seals. it should be back by the end of the week. im so impatient.

Sure sign of a clown trying to steal an Integra, if the person was any good, first you would not have the car second there would be NO damage to the car.
best of luck on the repairs.
