i have a major problem with my romulator (transtronics). I used it with several rom editors with great success for several years now but two days ago i had to reinstall my windows xp completely and until then i can only get contact with the romulator (even with the transtronics software) once if i unplug it from the ecu and if i use the com1 port.

i used a usb->rs232 adapter in the past without problems, but now the green led on the romulator did not lid when i use the usb->rs232 adapter. But thats not the main problem!

is there anyone who had this problem too? i guss it must be any setting or software in windows which makes these problems but i don't know what... baud rate and so on, all the basics are ok... i tripple checked that already...

hope someone can help.

 

those trans romulators are very esd sensitive. mine ****, and my dyno guy's **** even when he was using a grounding strap. might be the problum.
