Default advice on set-up?

I have a 99 si and i been back and fourth between boost and all motor. I dont know which route to go. My options i have narrowed it down to is:

1. boost the stock b16(58k miles) with peakboost kit
or get gsr block and b16 head and boost with peakboost

2. get a built gsr block and a set of cams, etc...

3. k20 complete swap and cams, etc...

4. or a complete type r swap

I'm not looking for crazy power. I daily drive my car. Nothing over like 350whp i would be looking for. I also want to shave the bay and stuff, keep it fresh.

Any input or pros and cons between my options and stuff would be great. I know a lot about all of my options, I just can't really decide on what is for me. Thanks

your choices are still pretty vague. Seriously, what's your budget? Boosting is a different nature, and you'll soon find yourself spending more money than you expected. I know nothing of K-series swaps, so I won't even speak to that, even though it seems like a spendy investment as well. Overall, the Type R swap may be most conventional and least expensive if you're on a budget.

peak boost kit on the stock b16 ftw if your not looking for crazy power (but more than what a b18c5 with bolt ons could do)

b18c5 if you only want a little more power and all that wonderful honda reliability

built or semi built b18 lower end with high comp pistons and some headwork/cams for the b16 head if you want to stay n/a and make over 200 whp

my opinion though...peakboost on the stock b16...run 6-8 psi and love it

my budget is decent, i want to buy quality parts and do everything right even if it takes me a few months. what are things that can make boosting the b16 cost more and more? i know the kit is $2,800, injectors, headstuds, headgasket, fuel pump, clutch, tune. anything else im missing?

where is a good place to find b18 blocks because i am very interested in that, even if i boost and decide to go for a bigger bottom.

also would it be a waste of time thinking about a different transmission? i have the stock si trans, everything has 58k miles on it, mint condition!
