Default Need help from the Guru's

I have a built GSr head Ferrea internals. When i torque the the cam caps and rails down, when using GSR or Skunk2 cams,i am unable to turn the camshafts by hand.Caps and rails are torqued to 18lbs,problem stays the same if torqued to 10lbs.
Can some one tell why this happening?

You shouldn't be able to turn the cams by hand...a more appropriate thread would be the case when you could turn them by hand...then you have a problem. The only real way to adjust the cams is by putting a 1/2" drive ratchet on the bolt which holds the gear onto the cam and turning it. Just make sure to have a gentle touch or you'll have to go around another time...you cant go counter-clockwise or the nut will simple loosen. Have fun

That's exactly what the prob is,when i put the ratchet on it i still can't turn the cams,if i try any harder i'm going to snap the bolt.I'm just not sure why they are so tight.

You can turn the old ones by hand because they are worn down, and have a clearance there, and don't for the new ones, because they are new they don't have a clearance as large as the old cam...Make sure to use moly grase one them new cams so that they brake in properly...
