Default tires turn in gear while in the air

ok i might sound like a n00b but i have my car on jack stands and put it in first gear and spun a tire and it spun like it was in neutral..wat could that be?

With an open differential, why wouldn't you be able to spin a single tire?

the open diff allows one wheel to free spin


also try this. Put it in neutral and spin one wheel. Watch which direction the other wheel spins.

the front is in the air. put it in first gear and spin the driver tire forward and the passenger tire should spin in reverse by itself. duh

problem fixed...the retaining clip at the end wasnt letting the cv joint fully enter the transaxle so i put an old retaining clip and some muscle to put it all the way in
