weird engine squeak
just checkin for ideas...
i have a weird squeak coming from the engine bay, sounds like it's on the back side or around the mount. i've since replaced the rear mount, and the squeak is still there. when i throttle the squeak pulses faster then slows down as i release throttle.
when i press on the clutch at all, the squeak goes away. it's driving me crazy.

i don't think it's a belt because the squeak/chirp goes away completely when i press the clutch in at all.
maybe a bearing or something in the transmission? any way to really check without pulling the transmission off?

Nope but thanks for playing. It squeaks when it's free spinning with minimal load. When the clutch is depressed it put the max load on the bushing. The pressure changes what you hear from a high pitched squeal to a low grade rumble that easily gets lost in the engine noise. It gets worse as the bearing gets ready to give its final spin and then you may or may not hear it.
