like the title says i have a ls with a spun belt would it have bent the valves and how could i tell

ok so i searched the only thing i can find says that the 90-95 1.8 is but i cant finde anything about the 96+ i just checked my vin number and it says that its a 99

You could take the head off and check, my belt spun and I just re-set it and cranked it over. I mean if its ****ed, its ****ed right? Mine was also a d16y8 (cheap) so it wasn't that big of a deal especially when I'm waiting on it to go. I'm sure you could check a Haynes or Helm's manual too, Helms being the better of the two.

Regardless, slap a new belt on and compression test the cylinders.

i cant test it becouse its on a engine stand but i dont want to pul the head is there anyway to find out if there bent without pulling the head or is that the only option??

Maybe do a cylinder leak down test where you turn the cam to TDC for each cylinder?
