Im told it wont make vtec stop working by a few people then Im told it will!??? When I start the car.. the CEL pops up a second later.. pulls code 41.. Pretty sure Im not hitting vtec.. My exhaust is off so I should hear vtec engage pretty good.. even with a stock ecu

I thought that oil pressure or a limp mode condition were the only things that would stop it from activating.

Then again, why not just fix the O2 problem and see if vtec comes back?

Just curious, do your neighbors give you dirty looks when you drive around with no exhaust?
(One other thing - vtec won't engage if you are just revving the engine and not driving around)

Code 41 will not cause no vtec. There has to be something else wrong what is your setup and in what car?

dude you got a cel light and cannt hit BE CAUSE WHEN VTEC HIT YOU NEED TIMING, FUEL AND OIL PERSURE. 41 DEAL WITH AIR FUEL RIGHT YES IT DOES .THE ECU READS THIS AND TELLS IT SELF THERES SOMTHING WRONG . AT HI RPMS VTEC NEED TO MAKE ADJ WITH AIR FUEL AND TIME ALL AT THE SAME TIME THAT Y YOU HAVE AN O2 SENOR IF READINGS ARNT RIGHT THE CAR RUNS LIKE ****.

Someone helps and you call them a jerk? How are we supposed to know if you knew if VTEC wouldn't engage just by revving it up. We'd think you'd know whether a code 41 would prevent VTEC from engaging then.

No paragraphs is almost worst then caps lock.

VTEC will not work atleast in my expierence if there is a problem with fuel or oil pressure/oil level.

Vtec will a activate if you are throwing an o2 code. Your car will be boggy and not run to its full potential though as a result. I just fixed my o2 sensor it was throwing a code 41 and I had vtec all day I just got shitty gas mileage and bad throttle response
