Ebay Turbo on teggy, your thought/opinions
what do you think about an ebay turbo on an integra? is the turbo worth its money? is it just a piece of shi*t. any power improvement? your thoughts and opinions
People have used Ebay turbo succesfully... They have improved over the years...
So odds are you'll run into little issues with them... Just make sure and use a restrictor otherwise you'll prolly lose the seals...

for the price of some of the ebay turbo's, you can sometimes find a good deal on a used t3 from garrett. the kit themselves, less turbo, aren't too bad of a deal i don't think. i have a few friends that have used ebay kits with no problems. just make sure whatever you do, get it tuned before you start beating on it.

its kinda hit or miss on the ebay turbos..i have one ill be putting on my teg in like a week and am pretty confident about it..run a retrictor on the inlet oil line and you should be fine.
oh ya BREAK IT IN!!!! dont bolt it on and go mash on it or you will **** it up..I think thats where most of the negative comments come from is people who know nothing about them and just put them on blow them up then bitch about them...ya there lower quality but if taken care of they can perform with the best

I would stay away from ebay kits, only succesful ones I know of are people that threw them on D16 civics and arent worried too much if they break them. They worked out fine though and ran pretty good not 300whp more like 210whp but I wouldnt put one on a B series.
dude who is this im in palm beach county..??
some ebay kits suck,... what ive be seeing alot is. so others are buying decents turbos eleswere, and using ebay to finish parting toghter there kits... sometimes you get lucked and find a nice fullrace manifold for 300, or a tial wastegate for 50....ect
remember that no matter what make sure you take your time and put your kit toghter correctly, adn tuneing makes the diffrence. so dose a MAP bypass

as others have said earlier, its pretty much hit-or-miss with an ebay turbo (or entire kit). pretty much EVERY person i've known who's had an ebay turbo....had the turbo **** on them in a few months.
so you might have it on for a few months......everything seems A.O.K.....then boom

i happen to own a garrett t3. it needs rebuilt. so its not just the "ebay turbo's" that go bad. i've seen plenty of turbonetics, borg warner, and garrets take a ****. just rebuild it and go on. the rebuild kits for a t3/t4 are only 40 bucks. even consider rebuilding it before you install it. that way you know its rebuilt with decent parts.
i personally ran the xs power turbokit for a year with no issued. Follow the break in of the turbo and run a restrictor on the inlet side.....still running strong in my boy coupe. but its a hit or miss. I learn alot from going ebay turbo, 700 bucks to learn all i learn was worth every penny i spent on the kit.
HA 210whp? i made 325whp on like 12-15psi on a stock gsr ebay t3/t4 50 trim, 680cc, tial wg, inlinepro mani, 3in dp on CROME! like i said stay away from the ebay kits!
Some people, for whatever reason, will swear by Ebay turbo setups. I, however, have seen several threads in the Forced Induction section that steer me away from them. I have seen overboosting due to a shitty wastegate, manifolds cracking and parts falling off on the freeway, and i've seen turbos crap out after 1 dyno session. Maybe it's because i'm not a gamblin' man, but i couldn't daily drive a car knowing that the setup is a time bomb.
Sure, it MIGHT work for you. You MIGHT be the lucky one, but consider this: If you aren't the lucky one, you now have a $1000 pile of crap setup that is worth nothing. Now, if you want to build a legit setup, you have to start over from square one...only now you have $1000 less to spend. Check the Forced Induction FAQ for more threads about this subject. Also, if you need more direct experience with these setups, start another thread in FI...you'll get answers which confirm my response above...

I personally used an ebay kit and the SS manifolds are terrible. Lasted for a little bit and started cracking all over the place. They use thin metal and little reinforcement. I've even had the manifold welded and reinforced and it still managed to crack. I'm currently using a synapse ramhorn that I love and has a lifetime warranty! The ebay cast manifolds should hold up though.
As far as the turbo I haven't had any problems with mine YET after 1 1/2 years. but then again i'm only running 9 psi on a stock motor making about 260whp.
Like everyone has been saying it gonna be hit or miss so be careful.

**Just to clarify my above post, i'm talking about the typical SSAutoChrome style eBay turbo kits. The cast manifolds are generally ok. I forgot to mention that until he ^^ did...
I ran one on my B16 for a few months, started burning oil after a few months of 13psi. I bought a Garrett rebuild kit and ran fine for around 2 weeks now it's smoking again! I ran a Function 7 restirctor too.
If your car's a daily whip then i wouldn't bother running one of these, well not unless you don't mind your car looking like it's fu**ed at traffic lights when the smoke bellows out!
Wish i lived in the US, Holset turbos cheap as chips! I don't get it, built here in the UK but cheaper to buy from the US and ship it back!

Okay, those ebay kits are 600-800 bucks. For another 200-400 more, like ~1000-1500 budget, you can put together a very nice quality kit than those shitty ebay kits.
Get a diff wastegate ASAP, ones supplied in the kit r junk
we ran a full "ebay" kit on a friends teggy , everything worked fine till the wastegate froz
repaced it with a tail, and fixed the engine damage, been 2 yrs now as a DD, and no more problems
